My name is Ann Paradis. My law practice is devoted to the rights of parents and caregivers to raise their children, and the right of students of all ages to a sound education.
Whether you need to get a custody order for your child or grandchild, individualized education services for you for your student, or protect you or your student against discrimination, I can help you.
My approach is to partner with clients to provide cost effective and quality representation. I do this by carefully investigating the facts and relevant law for your case with an understanding of your goal. Sometimes this analysis can be done very quickly while sometimes it must be done over the course of several weeks. I expect a great deal from my clients. Instead of just "taking" your case, I educate you and teach you self-advocacy skills in order to empower you to care for your legal needs long after your case is resolved.
With my experience working with poor and low income clients at Legal Aid, I understand that hiring an attorney can be costly. I make every effort to be affordable by providing options for representation including "unbundled" or "a la carte" services. In some cases, I can advise you how to represent yourself. However, even if you cannot represent your self due to the complexity of your case, everything you do for your case will reduce your fees and provide you with important advocacy experience.
